Idea for the Planet: Bring Your Own Redundant Devices to Work!

As IT professionals, we’ve all seen the trend of allowing employees to bring their own devices to work - or BYOD. We appreciate that this gives IT departments more work - however, it does make the employee experience better.

So how about another service you can offer your employees?

They can bring their own redundant IT equipment to work. You could call it BYORD - Bring Your Own Redundant Device!

The idea is that you gather up their redundant equipment, that they bring to work from home, keeping it in a secure place until you have enough (e.g. a pallet load) for us to collect. We then process the equipment in our usual data-secure way.

This is good for the planet.

Good for your employees - keeping their data safe.

Good for your organisation - enhancing the employee experience.

This aligns perfectly with our vision - specifically ‘a world where no technology assets ever get wasted’. Our full vision is:

Our vision for ICEX GROUP is to be the most sustainable IT Asset Partner for organisations. We’re striving to make a better world. A world where no technology assets ever get wasted and everyone has access to affordable technology. A world where technology assets are reused as much as possible, and when new assets are needed, they’re always sustainable. Only when they’ve reached the end of their life, and as a last resort, do they get recycled. And absolutely nothing goes to landfill.

Talk to your Account Manager to discuss how we can set up a scheme like this for your employees!
