IT recycling and data destruction for business

The paper it’s written on

For those of us old enough to remember lines from Only Fools and Horses, Del Boy would always say he had a “cistifikut”! ICEX supply certificates for the processing of the data we handle. The software we use, Blancco, has international recognition from some of the highest offices across the globe. Futhermore, our processing has been inspected and approved by external auditors.

Holding ISO at 9001, 14001 and 27001 is a constantly evolving process of improvement. It also involves a commitment from us to strive to reach the highest standards. ICEX are members of ADISA, a Government endorsed industry standards body, of all the IT Asset Disposal companies across the country, only 40 companies hold the accreditation and work to the levels of security the members commit to process equipment too.

There are plenty of companies that offer a certified solution for the disposal of IT equipment and data, there are plenty of free software packages you can download from the internet that ‘promise’ to wipe the data stored across all media platforms. If your disposal partner, offers a certified solution for processing of data and equipment, who backs them up to confirm the process they offer has been completed?

Everything works fine until there is a problem, if there is a data breach from the equipment you sent away for processing, who do you turn to when there is a problem?  The standards ICEX work to have been set by outside sources, our procedure is regularly stress tested and inspected, our membership and accreditations can be taken away more easily than they were earned.

Go and have a look at the facility your equipment and data will be processed at. Get reviews of the software that will be used. Check and check again. Because as Rodney always said about Del Boy’s certificate, “Yeah he’s got a certificate alright, but it ain’t got his name on it”
